In the research project *New Science of Mental Disorders* (NSMD), researchers from various Dutch universities collaborate on a novel approach to mental health problems—collecting a wealth of data in the process. We are looking for a recently graduated PhD researcher to (help) analyze large datasets using advanced network analysis and meta-analysis techniques, and to organize and manage these datasets.

Job Description
You will work independently under the supervision of NSMD’s Scientific Director. Your tasks include supporting the analysis of large datasets, interpreting results, and writing scientific publications. For data management, you’ll closely collaborate with consortium researchers from various Dutch universities. You’ll be responsible for the optimal organization and management of research data and contribute to the improvement of our open data services. You’ll also help facilitate biannual workshops for early-career researchers on psychological network analysis, and contribute to teaching within the Psychology and/or Brain Science curricula at Maastricht University.

Project Background
This position is part of the ambitious New Science of Mental Disorders research initiative, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (www.nsmd.eu). Mental disorders are highly prevalent, affecting one in four adults during their lifetime. Our consortium—comprising researchers from multiple Dutch universities—is investigating whether a network-based approach to mental disorders can improve diagnosis and treatment. This work is conducted in close collaboration with Dutch mental healthcare institutions (www.nsmd.eu).

Institutional Embedding  
Maastricht University leads the New Science of Mental Disorders project (www.nsmd.eu). Partner universities include the University of Amsterdam and Leiden University. The postdoctoral researcher will be appointed in the Department of Clinical Psychological Science (CPS) within the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience (FPN) at Maastricht University. We expect the candidate to live near Maastricht University.
 

Requirements

Voor de nieuwe academische werkplaats huisartsenzorg Zuidoost-Nederland, Ho₃rizon, zoeken wij per 1 september 2025 een enthousiaste huisarts die één dag per week (0,2 fte) als linking pin in het noordelijke deel van de regio Zuidoost-Nederland wil optreden (standplaats Eindhoven).

Functieomschrijving 
Vanaf 1 januari is de vakgroep Huisartsgeneeskunde gestart met het inrichten van een academische werkplaats huisartsenzorg. Het doel van deze werkplaats is om het ontwikkelen van nieuwe kennis en het gebruik daarvan in de praktijk te bevorderen, via een betere samen- en wisselwerking tussen praktijk en universiteit. 

De vakgroep Huisartsgeneeskunde in Maastricht wil graag de hele regio Zuidoost-Nederland verbinden in de werkplaats, via twee ‘hubs’: Maastricht en Eindhoven. In beide hubs zit een Huisarts-Linking Pin, die onderling nauw samenwerken, maar ook met de projectleider van Ho₃rizon. 

De wensen worden opgehaald uit de regio en vertaalt naar onderwijs, opleiding en onderzoek binnen de huisartsenzorg. De Huisarts-Linking Pin ondersteunt voornamelijk bij het toetsen van de praktische haalbaarheid, het verspreiden van kennis en ervaringen onder huisartsen en zorgt voor de juiste aansluiting en afstemming met de huisartsen en regionale huisartsenorganisaties, zodat de resultaten ook echt toepasbaar zijn binnen de huisartsenzorg. 

Taken van de Huisarts-Linking Pin 

• Vertegenwoordigen en verbinden van de huisartsen in de regio Eindhoven door het inventariseren, adviseren en prioriteren van ideeën voor de Academische Werkplaats; 
• Het oprichten van de Denk- en Doetank: inventariseren van huisartsgeneeskundige talent op gebied van onderwijs, opleiden, bestuur en onderzoek en hen motiveren mee te denken en/of actief deel te laten nemen aan de initiatieven van Ho₃rizon;
• Zorgen voor reguliere afstemming via de Denk- en Doetank met (niet-) gevestigde huisartsen, waarnemers, kaderartsen, A(N)IOS, regionale huisartsenorganisaties en andere stakeholders in de regio Eindhoven; 
• Participeren in het managementteam en de stuurgroep van het netwerk Ho₃rizon.

Functie-eisen 

• Je bent een enthousiaste huisarts; 
• Ervaring met data, innovatie en onderzoek (in de eerstelijnszorg), blijkend uit bijvoorbeeld bestuurlijke, projectmatige of wetenschappelijke activiteiten; 
• Lerende instelling, je wilt graag vernieuwingen teweegbrengen; 
• Verbindend vermogen; je bent bekend met een groot netwerk van collega-huisartsen en andere zorgverleners in de regio Eindhoven; 
• Gevoel voor politieke verhoudingen; 
• Goede kennis van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en geschrift.

Wat biedt de UM?
Als Huisarts-Linking Pin bij de Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences kom je in dienst bij de meest internationale universiteit van Nederland in het prachtige Maastricht. Verder bieden wij je:

• Goede arbeidsvoorwaarden. De functie is ingeschaald in schaal 12  met een toelage tot maximaal schaal 15 trede 8, conform UFO-profiel Onderzoeker met bijbehorende salarisinschaling op basis van ervaring tussen €5495,00 en €7056,00 bruto per maand (op basis van een fulltime dienstverband van 38 uur per week). Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML)  
In de Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML) draait alles om gezond leven. Ons onderzoek en onderwijs is niet alleen gericht op herstel maar focust sterk op preventie, gezondheidsbehoud en gezondheidsbevordering. De FHML wordt gevormd door een (inter)nationale community medewerkers en studenten en is de grootste faculteit van Maastricht University. De faculteit biedt een breed palet aan Nederlands- en Engelstalige bachelor- en masteropleidingen in vernieuwende onderwijsconcepten waarin de nadruk altijd ligt op het bouwen van bruggen naar de praktijk.

Het multidisciplinaire onderzoek van de FHML richt zich op een aantal zorgvuldig gekozen actuele thema’s. Job Description
Single-molecule magnets (SMM) exhibit magnetization blockage of molecular origin. This makes them perfect candidates for high-density storage devices, quantum computing and spintronics. The drawback of known SMMs is that they display magnetic hysteresis only at low temperatures. To explain this behaviour as well as to know how to increase their magnetization blockage temperature one should know the electronic structure of the material. For the latter, state-of-the-art ab initio calculations are required. 

The PhD candidate will study by means of quantum chemistry approaches the electronic structure of magnetic and other molecular materials. The research will delve into the study of the anisotropic magnetic properties in polynuclear lanthanide and transition metal complexes using ab initio methods. The results of the project will help to understand the magnetic properties of molecular origin and give insight on how to design materials with superior characteristics. 

Requirements

• Master’s degree within computational chemistry/quantum chemistry/physical chemistry or molecular physics, computational materials science, or other applicable Master’s degree;
• The candidate should have a high-level knowledge of the English language;
• The candidate should be independent and self-motivated;
• Experience with quantum chemistry software would be considered a plus.

The Research, Education and Action Lab into Collective and Circular Transformation (REACCT) is looking for an experienced chef with a strong interest in research, farm-to-table experimental practices, and building design (two year part-time position).

Job Description
We offer a unique setting with a residency on an organic farm in Riemst (BE) with experience supplying high-end kitchens, as well as on a pioneering Dutch producer of bio-polymers and building materials in Groningen (NL). The project is facilitated and coordinated by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS) of Maastricht University.

REACCT is a regenerative design research project focused on growing, cooking, and building in ways that create thoughtful and more sustainable ways of being, in relation to our bodies, our buildings, and our landscapes. We are convinced that to be truly transformative, dining experiences must blur the boundaries between food, the plate it’s on and the environments in which it is eaten. Therefore, we reconstruct and test historical and emerging value chains within agriculture, biochemical industries, and material culture. 

The project materializes in two temporary research labs, each serving as a curated space where farming, cooking, and building practices are not only studied but actively designed, performed, and tested. Within these labs, curation extends beyond the selection of objects or artifacts; it becomes a process of knowledge-making that bridges disciplines, reconfigures material flows, and fosters new social and ecological relationships. The chef-designer-researcher will be responsible for developing a strong and unique story and a collaborative methodology towards prototyping farm-to-table practices. 

REACCT is a collaboration between the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS) of Maastricht University (UM), Huis Veendam-Dynaplak, a design and biochemical company that produces, recycles and designs with renewable materials, and Goutte, an organic vegetable farm based in the Maastricht area. Research partners include the Maastricht Experimental Research In and through the Arts Network (MERIAN), the Jan van Eyk Future Material  and the Aachen-Maastricht Institute for Biobased Materials (AMIBM) of UM’s Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE). REACCT is funded through a CLICK NL PPP grant (2024-2027). 

Requirements
Have you worked on food and fiber as a chef, designer or researcher (or any of these combinations!)? Have you collaborated on tools and structures that contribute to positive social-ecological transformations? Are you driven by curiosity, do you have a demonstrated experience with an interdisciplinary work setting, and an interest in (academic) research? Are you willing to travel between agriculture and biochemistry, and between Groningen and Maastricht? Do you want to work towards more regenerative modes of living and production? Then this might be an interesting position for you.
 

What we offer
As a Farm to table ‘chef-designer-researcher’ at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

• Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 11 according to UFO profile Researcher 3, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €4537,00 and €6209,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
• An employment contract for a period of 24 months with a scope of 0,6 FTE.
• At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FASoS is a close-knit community of approximately 250 staff members and 2100 students. During breaks and before meetings, you can often find us at our favourite local coffee spot Bandito Espresso.
