Functieomschrijving

We ondersteunen studenten, docenten en onderzoekers bij hun academische doelen en dragen actief bij aan de digitale transitie en Open Science. De digitalisering van onderwijs en onderzoek brengt kansen én uitdagingen met zich mee. De hoeveelheid data groeit, systemen worden complexer en de eisen rond compliance en transparantie nemen toe. Een solide aanpak van informatiebeveiliging is dan ook onmisbaar. Daarom zoeken we een betrokken en deskundige Local Information Security Officer – een verbinder die risico’s weet te beheersen én collega’s begeleidt in het veilig en verantwoord omgaan met informatie.

In deze rol werk je op het snijvlak van beleid, techniek en praktijk. Je voert risicoanalyses uit, adviseert over passende maatregelen en vertaalt regelgeving naar werkbare processen. Tegelijkertijd vergroot je het bewustzijn rond informatiebeveiliging en ben je een toegankelijk aanspreekpunt voor collega’s. Jij bent de schakel tussen strategie en uitvoering en draagt actief bij aan de digitale volwassenheid van de UB.

Jouw belangrijkste taken en verantwoordelijkheden zijn:

• Het begeleiden van collega’s die systemen beheren en verder ontwikkelen bij het voldoen aan wet- en regelgeving op het gebied van informatiebeveiliging (zoals de AVG en de CLOUD Act);
• Het signaleren van risico’s, het uitvoeren van risicoanalyses en bieden van ondersteuning bij het treffen van passende maatregelen;
• Het bijdragen aan audits en rapportages. Je werkt daarbij nauw samen met o.a. de CISO, de centrale IT auditor en de informatiemanager van de UB;
• Het opstellen en uitrollen van een jaarplan informatiebeveiliging in samenwerking met de informatiemanager;
• Het adviseren over beveiligingsrichtlijnen en implementeren van praktische en toegankelijke procedures;
• Het verbinden van lokale UB-activiteiten met bredere IT- en architectuurvraagstukken binnen de UM, bijvoorbeeld door mee te kijken bij de gebruikte inrichting van API integraties tussen UB- en UM-systemen en door te adviseren over de veilige verwerking van datastromen binnen de gehele organisatie. Daarnaast  heb je een adviserende rol bij bijvoorbeeld de koppeling tussen SAP en systemen zoals Pure, het bibliotheeksysteem en Canvas.
• Het verhogen van het bewustzijn rond informatiebeveiliging binnen de UB. Je fungeert daarin als eerste aanspreekpunt voor je collega’s bij de UB. 

Functie-eisen
De Universiteitsbibliotheek is op zoek naar een collega die eigenaarschap toont en energie krijgt van het bijdragen aan een veilige en toekomstbestendige informatievoorziening. Je werkt zelfstandig en gestructureerd, maar zoekt ook actief de samenwerking op. Je bent analytisch, organisatiesensitief en weet complexe materie te vertalen naar heldere adviezen en toepasbare oplossingen. Met een proactieve, verbindende en resultaatgerichte houding schakel je moeiteloos tussen beleid en uitvoering, en tussen verschillende lagen binnen de organisatie.

Verder heb je:

• een afgeronde hbo- of wo-opleiding in een relevante richting (zoals security, IT-audit of informatiemanagement);
• kennis van en ervaring met risicomanagement en internationale standaarden zoals ISO27001, NIST en wet- en regelgeving zoals de AVG/GDPR en CLOUD Act;
• ervaring in het begeleiden van collega’s bij het compliant maken van systemen en informatiestromen;
• uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden in zowel het Nederlands als het Engels;
• bij voorkeur certificeringen zoals CISM, CISSP of SSCP, of aantoonbare ervaring met IT-audits;
• affiniteit met principes als security by design, privacy by design en API-first strategie in een complex geheel aan IT-systemen.

Wat biedt de UM?
Als Local Information Security Officer bij Universiteitsbibliotheek kom je in dienst bij de meest internationale universiteit van Nederland. Wij bieden je: 

• Goede arbeidsvoorwaarden. De functie is ingeschaald in schaal 11 conform UFO-profiel Architectuur/Informatiebeveiligingsoff met bijbehorende salarisinschaling op basis van ervaring tussen €4537,00 en €6209,00 bruto per maand (op basis van een fulltime dienstverband van 38 uur per week). In aanvulling op het maandsalaris zijn een 8,0% vakantie-uitkering en een 8,3% eindejaarsuitkering van toepassing.
• Een arbeidsovereenkomst voor een periode van 12 maanden met een omvang van 1,0 FTE. Bij gebleken geschiktheid zal de arbeidsovereenkomst omgezet worden in een dienstverband voor onbepaalde tijd. 
• Bij de Universiteit Maastricht staat het welzijn van onze medewerkers hoog in het vaandel, zo hanteren we flexibele werktijden en de mogelijkheid om deels vanuit huis te werken indien de aard van je functie dit toelaat. Hiervoor ontvang je maandelijks een thuiswerk- en internetvergoeding. Kom je fulltime bij ons werken, dan heb je jaarlijks recht op 29 vakantiedagen en 4 extra feestdagen, te weten carnavals maandag, -dinsdag, Goede Vrijdag en Bevrijdingsdag. Maak je gebruik van de mogelijkheid om compensatie-uren op te bouwen, dan komen hier nog eens 12 dagen bij. Daarnaast kun jij jouw arbeidsvoorwaarden personaliseren aan de hand van een cao-keuzemodel.

Job Description

Data volumes are increasing, systems are becoming more complex, and compliance and transparency demands are rising. A solid approach to information security is essential. That’s why we are looking for a committed and knowledgeable Local Information Security Officer, someone who can manage risks and guide colleagues in handling information safely and responsibly.
 
In this role, you operate at the intersection of policy, technology, and practice. You conduct risk analyses, advise on appropriate measures, and translate regulations into workable processes. At the same time, you raise awareness about information security and serve as an approachable point of contact for colleagues. You bridge the gap between strategy and implementation and actively contribute to the digital maturity of the University Library.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

• Guiding colleagues who manage and develop systems in complying with information security laws and regulations (such as GDPR and the CLOUD Act);
• Identifying risks, conducting risk analyses, and supporting the implementation of appropriate security measures;
• Contributing to audits and reporting. You will work closely with the CISO, the central IT auditor, and the Library's information manager;
• Developing and implementing an annual information security plan in collaboration with the information manager;
• Advising on security guidelines and implementing practical and accessible procedures;
• Linking local Library activities to broader IT and architecture issues within UM, such as reviewing API integrations between Library and UM systems and advising on secure data processing across the organization. You will also advise on links between SAP with systems like Pure, the Library Management System, and Canvas;
• Raising awareness about information security within the Library. You serve as the first point of contact for your colleagues at the Library.

Requirements
The University Library is looking for a colleague who takes ownership and gets energized by contributing to a secure and future-proof information infrastructure. You work independently and in a structured way but also actively seek collaboration. You are analytical, organizationally aware, and capable of translating complex matters into clear advice and applicable solutions. With a proactive, connecting, and results-oriented approach, you effortlessly move between policy and execution and between various layers within the organization.

Additionally, you have:

• A completed HBO or university-level education in a relevant field (such as security, IT audit, or information management);
• Knowledge of and experience with risk management and international standards such as ISO27001, NIST, and regulations like GDPR and the CLOUD Act;
• Experience in guiding colleagues in making systems and data flows compliant;
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English;

What we offer
As a Local Information Security Officer at Maastricht University Library, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands. We offer:

• Good employment conditions. Job Description
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS) is seeking 3 new teaching fellows to contribute to teaching courses in the BA programmes Arts and Culture, Digital Society, European Studies and if needed in the BA Global Studies.

Based on our approach of problem-based learning you will act as a tutor on courses that bring together perspectives from a wide range of disciplines in the social sciences and humanities. Additionally, you will contribute to the teaching of academic skills as well as quantitative digital/computational and/or qualitative research methods. You may also be asked to take on the role of an academic mentor and thesis supervisor for BA students.

You will become a member of one of the following departments of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences: The department of philosophy, politics or society studies. Your teaching and assessment activities will take all your contract time; research assignments are not included in this position.

Requirements
You have a master’s degree in/or close to one of the above-mentioned fields. Please note that as an early-career position without a research component, this position is not considered suitable for candidates who have a PhD or are currently working on a PhD thesis. 

You have the ability to stimulate students learning and participation in group discussion and to be an inspiring and stimulating mentor and supervisor. Previous experience in working with innovative, interdisciplinary learning approaches and problem-based learning methods are an asset.

An excellent command of English is a prerequisite (Cambridge English Proficiency Level C2, oral and written), the faculty’s main language of instruction.

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FASoS is a close-knit community of approximately 250 staff members and 2100 students. During breaks and before meetings, you can often find us at our favourite local coffee spot Bandito Espresso.

Job Description

The Department of Cell Biology-Inspired Tissue Engineering (c-BITE) at MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine at Maastricht University in the Netherlands invites applications for a postdoctoral position to join Dr. Silvia Bolognin’s lab. A postdoctoral position is available to use human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived midbrain organoids (MOs) in the context of schizophrenia. The project aims to validate the use of MOs as a predictive in vitro model to evaluate patient-specific responses to available and new antipsychotics. Working within a collaborative team of experts in mental health disorders at the Mental Health and Neuroscience Research Institute and tissue engineering, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of a translational platform for personalized schizophrenia treatment. This will involve advanced techniques in iPSC culture and differentiation, organoid characterization (e.g., dopamine signaling, cellular composition), and drug testing.

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience, mental health diseases, stem cell technologies, or a related field.
• Strong background in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
• Proven experience with microscopy and other relevant characterization techniques.
• Experience with iPSC-derived neurons and 3D cell culture systems is a plus.
• Excellent and proven knowledge of scientific English, both in speaking, reading, and writing, is required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences
At the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML), everything revolves around healthy living. Our research and education are not solely focused on recovery, but place a strong emphasis on prevention, health preservation, and health promotion. Our aim is to use our knowledge and expertise to genuinely contribute to the well-being of individual people as well as society in total. 

In, research, and healthcare, FHML is closely collaborating with the academic hospital in Maastricht, together forming the Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC+).  FHML is strongly connected in education, research, and care with the Maastricht academic hospital, together with which it forms the Maastricht University Medical Centre (MUMC+). 

FHML, which is the largest faculty of Maastricht University, is formed by an (inter)national community of employees and students. The faculty offers a wide range of Dutch and English-taught bachelor's and master's programs in innovative educational concepts in which the emphasis is always on building bridges to practice.
 

The multidisciplinary research of the FHML focuses on a number of carefully chosen topical current themes. In addition to research aimed at gaining new insights, it also concerns research whose results can be directly translated into concrete applications and innovations. The implementation of the various research programs is organized in our six graduate schools and two institutes.

 
Department

The MERLN Institute for Technology-inspired Regenerative Medicine focuses on developing novel and challenging technologies to advance the field of tissue and organ repair and regeneration through, amongst others, the development of high-hroughput material platforms to screen cell-biomaterial interactions. MERLN consists of an interdisciplinary team of researchers including fields as (stem cell) biology, materials engineering, chemistry, micro/nanofabrication, additive manufacturing, etc. The scientists at MERLN have an extensive network of collaborators within research institutions in and outside the Netherlands as well as with a number of biomedical companies, including their own spin-off companies, as entrepreneurship is highly fostered.

Wil jij met enthousiasme en gedrevenheid werken in het MBO onderwijs?

Wij zijn voor de teams Entree opleidingen Maastricht, Sittard & Heerlen op zoek naar een Docent(en) LB Entree voor in totaal 8,0 fte. Het betreft hier een (tijdelijke) functie voor de periode van 1 jaar met de mogelijkheid tot verlenging. De standplaatsen zijn Maastricht, Sittard of Heerlen.

De Entree-opleiding bereidt studenten voor op assisterende functies op de arbeidsmarkt. Studenten krijgen onderwijs op school en in de beroepspraktijk. Zij krijgen intensieve (individuele) begeleiding en loopbaanbegeleiding. Het team bestaat uit professionals die op het integrale snijvlak van onderwijs, praktijk en begeleiding perspectief bieden aan een kwetsbare doelgroep.

De Entreeopleiding verzorgt onderwijs aan:

• jongeren die door verschillende omstandigheden niet kunnen starten aan een MBO 2 -3 of 4 opleiding;
• jonge nieuwkomers (anderstaligen);
• jongeren die vanuit het praktijkonderwijs en voortgezet speciaal onderwijs in een doorlopende leerlijn doorstromen.

Wat worden je taken en verantwoordelijkheden?

• Als docent binnen de Entreeopleiding geef je les aan een grote diversiteit jongeren vanaf 16 jaar en aan (jong)volwassenen, die graag met een Entreekwalificatie (diploma MBO-niveau 1) naar de arbeidsmarkt willen doorstromen óf die willen doorstromen naar een MBO-niveau 2 opleiding;
• Als docent geef je lessen Nederlands, rekenen, Loopbaan, Burgerschap en vakinhoudelijke lessen die aansluiten bij de uitstroomprofielen Logistiek, Dienstverlening, Horeca, Verkoop, Retail, Bouw, Installatietechniek & Motorvoertuigen;
• Je draagt bij aan een open en toegankelijk onderwijs voor iedereen, zorgt dat leren leuk is en je werkt resultaatgericht;
• Je begeleidt de deelnemers gedurende hun opleidingstraject waarbij diversiteit een uitdaging is, daarnaast begeleid je deelnemers bij hun stage bij instellingen en bedrijven: wij willen deelnemers zo begeleiden, dat altijd duidelijk is hoe een deelnemer ervoor staat en welke mogelijkheden hij heeft;
• Wij vinden het belangrijk, dat onze Entreeopleiding aantrekkelijk, activerend en uitdagend is voor de deelnemers en dat zij leren zelfstandig te werken, samen te werken en zelf verantwoordelijkheid te nemen.

Wat verwachten wij van jou?

• Je hebt een relevante Hbo-opleiding afgerond en beschikt over een didactische en/of pedagogische bevoegdheid om als docent te kunnen werken binnen het MBO;
• Voor de samenwerking met het bedrijfsleven en de te geven vaklessen is affiniteit met één van de uitstroomprofielen een pré;
• Je communicatieve en coachende vaardigheden zijn goed;
• Je bent pedagogisch, didactisch en vakinhoudelijk competent;
• Je hebt affiniteit en ervaring met de doelgroep;
• Je bent ontwikkelingsgericht en hebt een proactieve en ondernemende houding;
• Je bent flexibel, bevlogen en verantwoordelijk.
