The focus of Hotel Management School Maastricht (HMSM) is the next step in hospitality. In de the last eighteen months of the bachelor programme students can specialize in one of the tracks (specialisations): Hotel Management, Foodservice or Horizons in Hospitality.

Our team of the track programme (4th year) is looking for you: an inspiring and motivating people manager, with excellent coaching and communication skills, who is passionate about facilitating and challenging colleagues to perform at a high level and who has great affinity with the HR-component within the management task. You have a vision on education and can combine the strategic demands of HMSM, the industries, the Teaching Hotel and Zuyd University of Applied Science. 
You are a member of the management team, i.e. you bear a joint responsibility for HMSM’s strategic and policy choices and for the manner in which Zuyd strategies are to be implemented at HMSM. You will have a selected portfolio or projects as extra responsibilities. As a team manager you will have lots of internal and external contacts. You represent the school and the management team at (international) congresses and boards. We communicate in both English and Dutch. You are accountable to the Director.

You are responsible for the specialisation phase consisting of 3 tracks and 10 minors, student exchange, management consulting projects and final assessment.
You manage a team of approximately 25 lecturers and act as the driving force of this team. You coach and support your team members, define their tasks and responsibilities in consultation with them, stimulate them in their professional development and evaluate their work performance. 

We prefer 
You have a master degree and relevant working experience in the hospitality/food industry. Your heart beats faster for applied research. You understand the dynamics and challenges of a learning environment in a (semi-)commercial setting, also want to take on (practical) tasks in the educational programme and will contribute to the success of the HMSM by being actively involved in our school community. A reliable team player and people manager with creativity, ‘guts’ and humour.

Wil je bijdragen aan digitalisering en innovatie door lectoraten, lectoren en onderzoekers te ondersteunen bij het vormgeven en uitvoeren van hun onderzoeksprojecten? 
 
Zuyd Hogeschool is een zeer gewaardeerde, innovatieve kennisinstelling in Zuid-Limburg, met onderwijslocaties in Heerlen, Sittard en Maastricht. Bij Zuyd werken docent-onderzoekers in meer dan 30 lectoraten aan praktijkgericht onderzoek met impact tot ver buiten onze eigen regio. 
 
Voor de ondersteuning van onze lectoraten op het gebied van digitalisering in onderzoek zijn wij op zoek naar een functioneel beheerder Onderzoek voor de onderzoeksapplicaties en online omgevingen die nu en in de toekomst worden ingezet. 
 

WAT GA JE DOEN

• Je informeert onderzoekers bij de inzet van onderzoeksapplicaties en -omgevingen voor hun onderzoeksprojecten; 
• Je beantwoordt ondersteuningsvragen van onderzoekers en onderzoeksondersteuners; 
• Je begeleidt en traint gebruikers bij het gebruik van verschillende onderzoeksapplicaties; 
• Je zorgt voor de juiste afstemming tussen proces en bijbehorende systemen (wat is er van de applicatie nodig, hoe richten we dat in?); 
• Je brengt behoeften van gebruikers in kaart, prioriteert deze en vertaalt ze naar verbetervoorstellen; 
• Je verzorgt accountbeheer voor Zuydbreed ingezette applicaties en omgevingen, onder meer voor analyse en opslag van onderzoeksdata; 
• Je werkt nauw samen met experts uit de organisatie, zoals datastewards, servicedeskmedewerkers, applicatie- en technisch beheer; 
• Je werkt samen in en draagt bij aan samenwerkingsverbanden op het gebied van digitalisering in onderzoek; 
• Je zet key-usergroepen op en onderhoudt deze samen met de informatiemanager voor onderzoek; 
• Je bent als functioneel beheerder de schakel tussen Zuyd en de leveranciers als het gaat om nieuwe ontwikkelingen, issues, bugs, etc.

Jouw opleiding en achtergrond: 

• Je hebt een afgeronde opleiding op hbo-niveau, bij voorkeur in de richting van ICT; 
• Je hebt ervaring als functioneel beheerder, met het beheer van meerdere applicaties naast elkaar; 
• Je hebt affiniteit met applicaties en informatiesystemen die onderzoeksprocessen ondersteunen; 
• Je beheerst de Engelse en Nederlandse taal op professioneel niveau; 
• Je bent bekend met het vakgebied functioneel beheer (bijvoorbeeld door middel van een BiSL certificering); 
• Je hebt affiniteit met het uitvoeren van praktijkgericht onderzoek.

Het salaris is maximaal schaal 9, cao-hbo. De inschaling vindt plaats op basis van opleiding en werkervaring. Dat betekent een bedrag van maximaal € 4.582,91 bruto per maand op basis van een fulltime aanstelling. Daarbovenop komt een vakantietoeslag van 8%, een eindejaarsuitkering van 8,3%, een ruim aantal vakantiedagen, professionaliserings- en inzetbaarheidsuren en een compleet vitaliteitsaanbod.

Sustainability has become an increasingly important aspect in all realms of society and also in the hospitality industry. In both the bachelor and master program offered at our school, sustainability will therefore play a more important role in the curriculum. Topics in this domain include: sustainable development, sustainable business models, application of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the 5 P’s, regenerative business and systems thinking. Besides a theoretical approach of the subject matter, much attention is paid to the practical application of this knowledge in various areas of hospitality management and initiatives on our campus. 

We are currently in a three-year process of embedding sustainability systemically at our school, using the Whole School Approach (WSA). You will be part of group of colleagues dedicated to implementing this plan, working closely with one other colleague specialized sustainable business. Within the process of carrying out the planned changes and initiatives, your input and expertise would prove of great value at this specific step of our endeavour.

Although your main job tasks would revolve around lecturing, you will also guide project assignments and applied research projects. You will coach students in their study progress, in community building and during their internships. And help your students grow as professionals and as human beings and contribute to their future.

Confucius Instituut Maastricht (CIM) is een onafhankelijk taalinstituut dat wordt ondersteund door Zuyd Hogeschool en de Dongbei Universiteit voor Financiën en Economie. Het instituut biedt Chinese taal programma's en culturele activiteiten aan in Limburg en de Euregio. Het is ook een testcentrum voor internationale Chinese taalvaardigheidsexamens. De missie van CIM is om topkwaliteit Chinees taalonderwijs in Nederland aan te bieden en mensen de kans te geven om te leren over de Chinese taal en cultuur door middel van activiteiten, studiereizen en studiebeurzen. Binnen Zuyd is het instituut verbonden aan het domein International Business and Communication.

Daarnaast zorg je voor de planningen en ondersteun je de officemanager met communicatietaken. Are you a curious researcher, driven to change the circularity of current solar panel technology? Do you enjoy translating knowledge to the next generation of technicians? Zuyd University of Applied Sciences is looking for an ambitious and passionate researcher and teacher who is driven to boost the knowledge and expertise on circular solar to the next level within Limburg.
As PhD candidate you will be working at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in close collaboration with TNO Eindhoven. You are responsible for the optimization of a novel cutting-edge disassembly method developed by TNO with the aim to remove glass plates from end-of-life solar panels with minimal loss of economic value of materials like silicon and silver. Translating materials properties to their potential for reuse in 2nd life applications is part of the PhD research. In addition, the research can contain alternative design strategies for solar panels to improve their circularity and lifetime validation of developed circular products. As a PhD student you will be involved in the education and coaching of bachelor students of Zuyd University with the aim to translate knowledge and experience gained in the PhD research to the next generation of technicians.

WAT VRAGEN WIJ AAN JOU?

Research and Education at Zuyd University

At Zuyd University the research will be performed in a multidisciplinary group of teachers, researchers and students working on sustainable energy transition innovations. The research group called “Sustainable Energy”, led by the lector Zeger Vroon, focuses on the demonstration and validation of (i) renewable energy generation technologies, (ii) energy saving in the built environment, and (iii) energy storage technologies. The research takes place both at Zuyd University in Heerlen and at the research facilities at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Geleen. At the latter location, the research group has an outdoor test facility for the demonstration and monitoring of energy transition products under the Dutch climate. The research group is part of the Engineering Academy which aims to educate young professionals in mechanical and electrical engineering with a focus on renewability and circularity. Besides hard skills, the development of soft skills is essential required when working in a fast developing technological market. The bachelor Engineers of Zuyd University are curious to technological developments and are able to contribute to large social problems by means of their skills and knowledge, keen to develop the technologies of the future.

Research at TNO Eindhoven

Next to your activities at the Hogeschool Zuyd, you will work about two days a week at TNO in Eindhoven (Solar Technologies & Applications | TNO). You will have access to the highly innovative and extensive equipment and collaborate with experts on PV and recycling. You will work side by side with our colleagues within our research program, who will also guide you during your PhD. 
At TNO Solar, we work together with industrial and scientific partners and clients on research and development in the field of solar technologies and its integration into surfaces in our living environment. To this end, we have excellent technical facilities and in-depth covering a wide range of PV value chain; from small cells to rigid and flexible substrates using sheet-to-sheet and roll-to-roll processing techniques and (mini-)modules made on our pilot lines, while also working on circularity and sustainability. This entails new cell design, new process and equipment development, reliability and lifetime testing, prototyping, field-testing, development of advanced characterization and performance models. Our ambition is to support the energy transition by delivering sustainable, reliable and highly efficient solar technologies which can be integrated everywhere.

• a salary fitting to the level of relevant experience in research and education with a maximum of scale 11 cao-hbo (maximum €5.936,77 gross fulltime). Added on top of this is 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% end-of-the-year bonus;
